MEDIA RELEASE: Libertarians throw down the gauntlet on law and order

Libertarian MP David Limbrick has challenged other political parties to explain their track record and policies on law and order.

This comes as the Libertarian Party releases its law and order policy including two strikes-no bail, and a multi-pronged approach to tackling the root causes of crime. 

“I have spoken about crime more than 130 times in the current parliament, not just in the media. I have met with victims of home invasions, attended and hosted crime forums in my community and sponsored petitions on pepper spray and castle law and increasing police numbers. 

“The Libertarians are the only party to consistently address the root causes of organised crime in this state, which includes failed prohibition policies of vaping and excessive excise. I hosted a summit into the Tobacco Wars and was the first MP to raise the issue of illicit alcohol.

“I put forward motions to have more scrutiny of judges, to have sex offenders banned from working in the sex industry, and used my deciding vote to limit compensation payouts to those connected to the lawyer X scandal. 

“I helped with the campaign to reopen the coroners inquiry into the death of Louisa Ioannidis and was instrumental in locking up the Frankston serial killer for life.

“I am happy to compare the Libertarian track record on law and order with anyone else in parliament. Those considering who to vote for based on managing crime should take notice as to what people do rather than what they say.”
